So I lost my chip to my camera.  I took it out and put it in my pocket after I got pictures developed now I can't find it, so I won't be posting pictures any time soon.
I do have a funny story though.  Sophy was telling Kari and I that when she's our age that she is going to have babies.  Then she went on to asking "How are babies Made?"  she had a puzzled look on her face.  Kari and I looked at eachother, and then Kari said "it's complicated," and I said that would be a good thing for daddy to explain to you."
Oh no I can't believe she already asked this question.  I knew it would come but not until like kindergarden.  I was not prepared for this question.  Her little mind is constantly wondering....Are conversation on the way home from school last week was "who carried aunt beth in her stomach, rehreh and she went down the list of everyone she knew.  "Well then where did mimi come from??"  I explained that she has a mommy, and she wanted to know where she was.  She is getting technical with her questions....HELP!!!!

We actually got to school early today, Sophy's classroom wasn't even open yet, WOW, we had a good morning. Sophy had her first cleaning at the dentist.  She sat on my lap and did really well.  She held a mirror and watched to see what the dentist was doing the whole time.  She was very excited to get a new tooth brush and tooth paste, even more excited to use it when we got home.  Well, Silas is doing well with his staples, it doesn't even phase him.  When I went to pick Silas and Ayda up from school tthey were in the gym so SI came running to me first "MOMMY", then Ayda follwed.  Sophy had her arms out ready for a big hug from Ayda but she dodged her and came right for me.  All the teachers started laughing (they have 5 teachers) and Sophy was a bit embarrassed.  But is was very funny to see little Ayda do that.  We are getting ready to go to the hight school so the kids can run around in the gym.  Sam has to supervise a swim meet there so they will get to see there daddy and get out of the house.  Then it's off to dance class with Sophy.

Staples!!!

Silas got two staples today in his head......gosh  I swear we have been lucky, three cuts on his lip with no stiches.  The iron gym fell right on his head.  I know your probably wondering how this can happen.  Silas was on one side of the door and Ayda on the other pushing the door back & forth.  The pull up bar was hanging on the door frame and with all their pushing and pulling it caused the bar to come down.  I saw it starting to fall and ran and tried to catch it and it caught SI guy right in the back of the head.  It bled pretty bad.  Sam was gone running so I called Mark and he rushed right over.  "Yep he'll need a couple staples." Mark said I felt so bad.  Silas was such a trooper in the ER, he didn't cry once. We have to leave them in for three days.  NO MORE IRON GYM!

Today Silas & Ayda figured out how to trick pele.  They would take a kleenex and rip it up and feed pieces to him and he would actually eat them.  They got the biggest kick out of it.

The kids are starting to get a little better, now I feel like crap so I'm going to the doc. today.  I got a call today saying Silas fell and cut his lip open and may or may not need stiches.  They both trampled me when I picked them up.  Sam and I both decided he didn't think he needed them.  But last month we took him to the er b/c he cut his lip open but he didn't need stiches.  On Sunday he was carrying something and fell and cut the inside of his mouth.  They are so clumsy right now.....both guy.  That's all for now!

I just realized I have't posted any thing in a while.  As of now, the kids all have a cold with Ayda's being the worst.  It started Wed. Silas started coughing and had some goppy eyes then Thurs. Ayda had the same symptoms.  I knew something was starting to come on, but it was just a mattter of time. By this weekend they are all coughing, runny noses.  Ayda had a little fever yesterday, but luckly nothing too high.  She coughed on and off last night so I know so didn't sleep well.  NO SCHOOL tomorrow b/c of MLK day so we will probably make a trip to the doctors.  With them started school I should expect this  Usually Sophy brings home the crud and passes it on, but this time I think it was the opposite.  Well other that that pele's healthy!!

Day two of dropping Silas and Ayda off didn't go so well.  Sophy cried all the way to the door of school saying "these bags are too heavy, I don't want to carry these bags."  She is my helper and her job is to carry their bags plus hers since I carry Silas and Ayda through the snow.  When we got to the classroom door Ayda rang the bell but when the teacher opened the door she started crying, she knew this time I was leaving.  Silas did fine going in, grumped a little.  I could hear Ayda crying all the way down the hall.  When I came back to check she was sitting on the teacher's lap sucking her thumb & Silas was looking for something to play with.  And when I went to pick them up Ayda cried again and came running to me.  They were both ready to go home for the day.

Today went suprisingly well for the first day.  This is how the morning went..everyone had breakfast, cereal and milk.  Then I got them dressed and they played for a while. I packed them all in the car and we went to school.  I carried them in and Sophy carried their backpacks for me (she was a big help).I had to help them find their picture to put in the pocket.  I led Ayda to the door to ring the bell and when Peggy  opened the door I gave her a nudge in the room.  Then Silas did the same thing.  I turned right around and held it together to take Sophy to her room.  I went back to check on them and watched them in the observation window.  Ayda was sitting at the snack table staring at her food and Silas was across the room kneeling on a chair.  This is when tears started to run down my face and it hit me.  When I picked them up Ayda came running to me and began to cry and gave me a big hug and Silas gave me a a hug too.  I could feel myself starting to cry again, I felt bad about leaving them and they were like "mommy where did you go?"  The teachers said they did fine.

Today was there last day of the phase in process so tomorrow they start there first day without me.  Silas did so well today, he ventured across ther room for a while, washed his hands, got snack, played with cars, got some more snack.  Ayda didn't go far, she walked around, sat in a chair by me and looked at a book.  I have mixed emotions about them starting school.  On one hand I want them to venture out and socialize, and then I also want them to be at home with me.  I guess it's selfish to say but I have been waiting for this for a while now....a little freedom... but now that it's here I'm not sure that I want it.  "What will you do with yourself mommy,"? Sophy often asks "maybe daddy will stay home from school," she says.  That is a good question what will I do? Maybe clean my house, fold some laundry, grocery shop, or maybe just kick back with a cold beer --ha ha.  I'm sure I will find some projects to keep me busy.  I have been thinking about going back to school to work toward's my masters degree.  Well, for now who knows?
Tomorrow will be a blessing for all of us.  I know some tears will be shed all around but it will be good for all of us.

After church we decided to take Silas to get his haircut b/c he was in need.  We were looking at it and it was sticking up all over the place and he looked silly.  Pegg cut it at our house the first time so this was the first time at a shop.  He did so good sitting in the chair like a "big boy".  I can't imagine Sophy or Ayda being as calm as he is.

Day two

Today was day two of the phase in process for Silas and Ayda.  They enjoyed exploring again and stealing other student's work.  Ayda was pushed down a few times by a little girl, the teacher was redirecting the girl but she continued to do it.  I wanted to step in so bad and tell the little girl to back off but I kept my cool.  They have one more day until they will be by themsleves.  Tomorrow were expecting a snow day so that might delay there start date.

Today was the first day of the "phase in" process so we had to leave the house at 7:50 which was a bit of a challenge.  Mary came over at 7:30 to help out, she got Sophy ready for school and took her at 8:15.  Silas and Ayda had to eat breakfast right when they got up which they are not use to, they usually drink their sippy cup of milk and walk around the house picking on Pele fo a while but they adjusted fine.
When we got to school Silas got to work right away working with the teacher and Ayda found the things that would fit in her mouth.  They were busy exploring all the new activities.  There were two other new students starting so they were also there with their mom so as soon as Silas spotted a little boy having snack at the snack table he hurried over to check it out.  The teacher assisted him with scooping cheese cubes into his bowl along with some crackers.  He sat at the table for a few minutes to eat then wondered around with his crackers.  Soon enough Ayda was over helping herself to some sanck too.  Montessori's philosophy is that snack is out all morning and when the child feels hungry they can eat as much as they want.  The new students were in the classroom a half hour before the other kids arrived.  So when the kids started to come in they were excited about their new friends.  Two little girl's gave Silas hugs and he didn't know what to think.  These next couple days will be interesting...it is so much fun watching them, I wish I could take pictures but it's not allowed.

Back to School!

Today we had to get back in our routine of going to school, Sophy did surprisingly well.  She claimed that she didn't want to go to school but I told her all her friends missed her.  She even had time to watch a little cartoon before we departed and we got a front row spot at school which we never get.  Silas and Ayda start the "phase in" process on Wed.  I take them to school from 8-9 in the morning and sit with them for an hour each day so they start to feel comfortable and when Monday comes I hope the feel secure because I will be leaving them from 8:30 until 11:15 each day.  Wow tomorrow they have their 16 month check up..where has time gone?? My babies are growing up..

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!

We took the family to their house for a yummy dinner/dessert and celebration of 2010.  The "ball dropped" @ 6:00pm.  with a count down. yehhh we know how to party!!

Sledding Fun!

Sam & I took the kids down to Riverside park to

go sledding for the first time.  Sam pulled Silas & Ayda in one sledd & I pulled Sophy in another.

It took about 25 minutes or so to get everyone dressed and that was with Sam's help.  Hopefully we can get it down before the end of winter!
